FreightSnap is dedicated to helping our customers improve their shipping process in every way that we can. From finding the right dimensioner for your process to finding the perfect place in your warehouse to install it, even integrating it with your existing software and devices. At FreightSnap we understand for a device to add to productivity, it not only needs to be faster than a manual process but also seamlessly fit within the process. What good is a fast device like a dimensioner, if it costs you more time to operate.

While Dimensioners are an important task, some companies need the ability to document and store images of inbound shipments, outbound order preparation, outbound freight, and other pertinent documentation. The FreightSnap Image Station is an integrated image capture system and repository. The system allows for unlimited storage of images and freight data which can be easily navigated with the FreightSnap Cloud Platform. Equipped with up to eight cameras, you can capture the condition of your freight from every angle. The FS Image Station also grows with your company allowing you the option to upgrade and add dimensioning capabilities if desired. The system also includes a mobile platform that can be operated from Android tablets and smartphones.

FreightSnap works with your team to integrate our products to help optimize your workflow within your facility. With the option to store all the photos and information captured on the FreightSnap Cloud, we can integrate the information directly into your existing WMS, TMS, and ERP systems. This allows you to keep all your key shipment information in one place. All of our products come with out of the box integration to devices such as scales, barcode scanners, and handheld computers.

In 2015 Estes Express Lines started working with FreightSnap to find a solution to improve their dimensioning data across their cross docks. Estes being a National LTL Carrier had a sophisticated hub and spoke system for providing freight pickup and delivery service, point to point, from anywhere in the country. LTL Carriers utilize the Class-Based rating system which combines weight and commodity classification to provide efficient billing to customers. Part of the Classification system is to correctly identify the appropriate commodity class so that the proper weight charge is applied to the shipment. Over time, as commodities changed, more and more freight was classified as density-based. This meant that it was necessary to combine the actual weight of the shipment and the cubic feet to come up with the proper classification. Hand measurement of freight was not possible on LTL cross docks and inspectors were quickly overrun with tight cross-docking windows. The use of dimensioners was invaluable at identifying freight that was misclassified. Better data has led to better overall costing information for providing long-term quotes to customers and accessing the viability of routes and customer transactions.

“Customization was crucial to our early success. Initially, many of the terminal managers complained about the extra time needed to run freight through the dimensioners, and there was some push back,” Webb Estes, Vice President of Process Improvement, said. “But once we found the right process and equipment mix and management had a chance to see exactly how the data could help us, there was no going back. In fact, we started looking at where else we could install more units.”

FreightSnap worked closely with Estes Express to fine-tune the equipment, locate it properly within their cross docks, and make the data available in real-time to help with billing and strategic decision making. FreightSnap will do the same for you.
