Lenexa, KS – FreightSnap’s FS 5000 pallet dimensioner has officially earned OIML certification after passing the established testing criteria for multi-dimensional measuring instruments.

Having previously passed certification standards in the United States (NTEP) and Canada (Measurement Canada), the FS 5000’s recent OIML certification means that the dimensioner has now earned certification status in 64 countries, across six different continents.

According to OIML, the FS 5000 dimensioner is certified to measure freight as large as 240 cm x 240 cm x 240 cm (length, width, height), and as small as 30 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm (length, width, height), with an accuracy of ± 2.0 cm.

FreightSnap Expects Certification and New Improvements to Fuel Interest Abroad

With hundreds of units in service across North America and around the world, the FS 5000 has been a favorite amongst shipping companies, third party logistics providers, and less-than-truckload carriers since 2015 when the first-generation device was launched.

Now, with OIML certification in hand, FreightSnap expects the FS 5000 to gain significant traction abroad. FreightSnap Asia, a division of the company dedicated to growing sales throughout Thailand and China, has already seen increased interest in the product.

“For a couple years now, companies in Europe, Asia, South and Central America, and even Australia, have encouraged us to prioritize OIML certification,” said Michael Eichenberg, CEO of FreightSnap. “In 2018, we crossed that off the list. As a result, we’re seeing an influx of interest outside the United States.”

According to Eichenberg, improvements to the FS 5000 integration capabilities will also attract new customers, helping the company build off their best year yet in terms of sales.

“This year has been a good one for FreightSnap,” said Eichenberg. “We’ve seen a steady rise in sales, and we’ve invested a good part of that money back into the product. We’ve made considerable improvements to the software, which has allowed us to improve the accuracy, speed, and reliability of the unit. We’re seeing fewer service inquiries, and the ones we do see are handled quicker, most remotely without ever stepping on the customer’s floor. We’ve also integrated with a number of new resource management systems, giving our clients greater flexibility and adding value.”
